Why Heart?
The traditional heart shape should have a ratio between 0.90 and 1.10 in order to be evenly formed and display the shape we all know. The ratio is noted by taking measurement of the widest part of the diamond and the longest part, and it is important to ensure the curved arches of the stone are deep enough to give you a strong reflection of light.
Did you know?
Heart shape engagement rings are little rare due to the more difficult nature of cutting the stone to the perfect heart shape. Notable wearers of this stunning diamond include Cheryl Cole, Lady Gaga and Rochelle Humes.
Diamond Facet Structure
The ultimate symbol of love, a heart shaped diamond will have 56 to 58 facets. Good symmetry is essential to give the ideal heart shape and this is caused by a typical ratio of anything between 0.90 and 1.10.
